I made the one photographed in 8ply (DK/light worsted weight) yarn using a 4mm hook but you could use any weight yarn and relevant hook to create a blanket of varying sizes.
The subtle understated rainbow effect of the colours used adds to the overall effect given from the finished blanket but would look equally as wonderful in a single colour throughout.
